This unit introduces students to the contemporary challenges facing developing nations. It considers the key social, economic, and political issues confronting these nations in the context of globalisation. Set against the legacies of colonialism, the unit will examine the ways that various developing nations are approaching economic and social development, and the political and cultural constellations involved.
