This unit explores the changing nature of international relations with respect to the issues of security and terrorism. Drawing from literatures in both conventional and critical security studies, the unit asks the question: what does it mean to be secure in world politics today? By looking at the role of states, nations, identity, markets, the environment, technology, religion, and terrorist organisations, the unit will explore the changing security landscape in the aftermath of pivotal world events.
