In this unit students will be guided in the development of a comprehensive literature review. A literature review is the foundation for effective research as it highlights the gap in the literature and therefore justifies the need and approach to the research. Students will extend their skills in literature searching, critical appraisal, and scientific writing. Students will learn to critically analyse and evaluate research methods, data collection and analysis. This unit complements SCIE401 Preparing for Scientific Research. The unit aims to develop students’ knowledge and skill in exploration of the literature to inform the development of a research question.
